About birch veneer

A veneer is a thin coating of wood made from a log that has been rotated. Depending on the type of wood and desired use, veneers can be rotary cut in a variety of thicknesses.

Apart from the veneer utilized in the manufacturing of plywood, UPM Plywood also produces Foresmate-Parquet Veneer products for the parquet sector using birch. The veneers used in the manufacturing of UPM’s Foresmate® plywood are primarily peeled in thicknesses of 2.0 mm, 2.6 mm, and 3.2 mm and 1.5 mm for birch.

Three-layer parquet flooring is supported by veneers of birch cut by rotary cutting. The multilayer parquet construction is balanced with thin birch veneer, which also makes it easy to install.
The 2.0 mm thickness of Foresmate-Parquet Veneer is ideal for the equilibrium of parquet flooring as well as the productivity of its manufacturing. Veneers with moisture control are supplied with a tolerance of +/- 1% and in accordance with the customer’s specifications.

Foresmate veneer production involves a continuous focus on operational quality. Development of the production process and a dedication to high-quality products are evident at every level of the manufacturing process.
