Birch veneer, or thin sheets of birch wood, is crushed and bonded together to form Baltic BB/BB birch plywood. Each layer of birch veneer is the same thickness, resulting in a sheet of plywood that is more uniform, void-free, stable, and aesthetically pleasing. When an exposed plywood edge is wanted, BB/BB birch plywood is a particularly well-liked material to employ since its edges feature a beautiful stacking line pattern (achieved by switching the orientation of each inner ply).

On other types of plywood, the top level veneers are often thinner than the front and rear veneers, which are normally thicker. Because of this, BB/BB birch plywood is more resistant to sanding and chipping damage. The entire sheet is laminated with exterior quality glue after being attached, significantly boosting its strength and stability.

Face and back are one piece for BB/BB birch veneer. Face and back veneers each permit an average of 3-6 little color-matched patches as well as a few light mineral streaks. There can be small pin knots. Solid one-piece veneers make up the inner cores.

However, good-quality BB grade boards might be acceptable for furniture and clear finishing! Construction options include long grain and cross grain.

Environmental

Glue makes up the second essential component of plywood sheet. This is used to join the thin veneers to create a solid finished good.
Overall, glue is not the most eco-friendly product available. Plywood is often adhered with a chemical-heavy synthetic resin glue.

Formaldehyde is a common component of plywood glues, though this is gradually being phased out. The production of industrial chemicals is generally a messy operation that frequently leads to air pollution.
